31 Nations Vie for Gold at U18 EuroBeachVolley in Corigliano Rossano

The U18 CEV EuroBeachVolley, the final Age Group European Championship of the year, is set to commence this Wednesday in Italy. Beach volleyball teams from across the continent will gather for five days of intense competition, aiming for gold in Corigliano Rossano.

After successfully hosting Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures events in the past two seasons, the vibrant city of Corigliano Rossano now eagerly welcomes the most promising young talents from 31 different European countries. All the action will unfold at the stunning Schiavonea venue.

The tournament officially begins on Wednesday with the crucial qualifier rounds. Main draw pool play will then take center stage from Thursday through Friday. Saturday is reserved for the thrilling elimination rounds, culminating in the semifinals and medal matches that will crown the champions on Sunday.

Women`s U18 CEV European Championship

The women’s event promises fierce competition, featuring duos from 29 nations. Countries represented include Italy (with 3 teams), Poland (2 teams), Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Türkiye, and Ukraine.

Among the returning athletes, German Anna-Chiara Reformat, who clinched a bronze medal with Mila Jancar last year in Kachreti, is the sole medalist making a return in 2025. The 16-year-old will compete alongside Rika Dieckmann, daughter of German Olympian Markus Dieckmann. Greek talents Eleni Alexoglou (15) and Myrto Paschalaki (17) will also seek to improve on their fifth-place finish at home last year, aiming for the coveted U18 European title.

Men`s U18 CEV European Championship

The men’s tournament will showcase teams from 31 nations, with Cyprus and Sweden also sending their promising duos to Corigliano Rossano. Host nation Italy will have a significant presence, fielding three teams in their quest for victory.

German Jonathan Bungert, 17, who previously earned a silver medal with Kalle Pieper, is determined to climb to the top of the podium this year, partnering with 16-year-old Filo Wüst. Italy, the reigning champions from last year, will undoubtedly be looking to defend their title on home sand, with teams Marco Di Felice/Riccardo Santomassimo, Francesco Denina/Lorenzo Profumo, and Jack Bernardini/Nicolò Mapelli representing their hopes.
