The anticipation is palpable as Adelaide counts down the final 100 days until it hosts the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships 2025. This landmark event is poised to transform the city into a vibrant hub of beach volleyball from November 14 to 23.

Set to unfold across The Drive and Pinky Flat, this championship will be the most extensive beach volleyball gathering ever witnessed in Asia or Oceania. Fans are invited to immerse themselves in the excitement right in the heart of Adelaide`s central business district.

To commemorate the 100-day mark, a special `mystery box` was revealed in Rundle Mall, bringing joy to locals. Olympic gold medalist and event ambassador, Kerri Pottharst, personally distributed 300 beach volleyballs, fueling the growing excitement.

“The excitement is building. This year marks the 25th anniversary of our Olympic gold medal, and Adelaide will be a pivotal moment to ignite the next golden era for our sport,” stated Pottharst, emphasizing the significance of the upcoming event.

“You`ll have the chance to witness our Australian men`s and women`s teams in action from day one, starting with the Green and Gold Super Session on opening night, where they`ll compete alongside an Olympic medalist. It`s going to be absolutely electric,” she added.

Tickets for this extraordinary event are now available for purchase.

For the initial seven days of competition, Pinky Flat will transform into the `Central Beach District` – a meticulously curated festival celebrating South Australia`s lively beach culture. Visitors can cross the Adelaide Riverbank Pedestrian Bridge directly onto the sand, where they`ll find live music, an array of local food and beverage options, interactive volleyball activities, and a main stage offering stunning views of the Adelaide city skyline. This promises a novel sports experience, blending world-class competition with South Australia`s renowned beachside charm.

Andrew Dee, CEO of Volleyball Australia, highlighted the importance of the event: “Beach volleyball is a thrilling global sport, and hosting the 2025 World Championships in Adelaide will provide Australian fans with a unique opportunity to get up close with the sport`s biggest stars.”

He further added, “It`s not just about the on-court action; our team is committed to creating an electrifying fan experience right in the heart of Adelaide. Whether you`re a seasoned volleyball enthusiast or new to the sport, you`ll feel the incredible energy.”

Hon Zoe Bettison MP, Minister for Tourism & Multicultural Affairs, remarked:

“The 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships will showcase South Australia at its finest – combining world-class sport, a dynamic urban backdrop, and an unforgettable experience for all visitors.”

“Our boutique city`s convenience and exceptional food and beverage offerings make it an ideal sporting destination for both athletes and fans – precisely what the international beach volleyball community will discover this November.
