The Italian star leads a prestigious Dream Team of seven individual awardees.

Italy’s stellar outside hitter, Alessandro Michieletto, has been honored with the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship held in the Philippines. For the 24-year-old athlete, this accolade represents the most significant individual achievement in his already distinguished volleyball career.

Michieletto’s remarkable performance also earned him a leading spot on the tournament’s symbolic World Championship Dream Team, comprising seven highly deserving players. The announcement was made during the awards ceremony following the final match in Pasay City on Sunday evening.

  • Setter: Simone Giannelli (Italy)
  • Opposite: Yuri Romano (Italy)
  • Outside Hitters: Alessandro Michieletto (Italy) and Aleksandar Nikolov (Bulgaria)
  • Middle Blockers: Aleks Grozdanov (Bulgaria) and Jakub Kochanowski (Poland)
  • Libero: Fabio Balaso (Italy)

Michieletto`s crucial contributions were instrumental in Italy`s journey to the world title at Philippines 2025. Over seven matches, he accumulated an impressive total of 93 points, emerging as Italy’s highest scorer and the sixth-best scorer across all participating players in the World Championship. Additionally, his strong serving game placed him in a shared fifth position in the best servers’ ranking, with 12 aces to his name.
