Beach Volleyball Champions Triumph: Tournament Results from Europe and Asia

National beach volleyball championships and tour stops recently concluded in Czechia, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, and Japan, delivering thrilling matches and crowning new champions.

Czechia

The CEZ Czech Beach Volleyball Championships in Prague saw Andrea Lorenzova and Mariana Tomasova claim the women`s title, defeating Julie Honzovicova and Valerie Dvornikova 2-0 (35-33, 21-11) in an epic final. Anna Pospisilova and Daniela Mokra secured the bronze. In the men`s competition, Tadeas Trousil and Jiri Sedlak dominated Tomas Semerad and Adam Stocek with a 2-0 (21-11, 21-16) victory to become national champions. Matyas Jezek and Adam Waber finished third.

Italy

Termoli hosted the penultimate stop of the 2025 Fonzies Absolute Italian Championship tour. In the men`s event, Mauro Sacripanti and Giacomo Titta delivered an upset, winning gold against top-seeded Tiziano Andreatta and Davide Benzi 2-0 (21-18, 21-11). Italian Olympians Samuele Cottafava and Enrico Rossi earned bronze. For the women, Giada Benazzi and Erika Ditta snatched gold with a 2-0 (21-13, 23-21) upset over bracket leaders Alice Gradini and Federica Frasca. The Italian-American duo of Arianna Barboni and Courtney Schwan secured the bronze.

Japan

The 2025 Japan Beach Volleyball Tour resumed in Aomori. Miki Ishii and Mayu Kikuchi won the women`s trophy, achieving a convincing 2-0 (21-5, 21-8) victory in the final against Ami Shirahata and Suzuna Fukuda. The semifinalist teams shared third place. In the men`s final, third-seeded Yusuke Ishijima and Juntaro Tachiya caused an upset, beating top-seeded Hiroki Dylan Kurokawa and Yoshiumi Hasegawa 2-0 (22-20, 21-16). Bronze was shared by the German-Japanese pair Martin Kaufer and Kensuke Shoji, and the mixed team of Japan`s Taito Mizumachi and New Zealand`s Thomas Hartles.

Spain

The 2025 Spanish Beach Volleyball Championships in Fuengirola saw Alejandro Huerta and Adrian Gavira crowned men`s national champions after a 2-0 (21-7, 21-19) win against Javier Huerta and Oscar Jimenez. Antonio Saucedo and Alvaro Viera took bronze. In the women`s tournament, top seeds Ana Vergara and Tania Moreno lived up to expectations, securing the title with a commanding 2-0 (21-15, 21-15) victory over Nazaret Florian and Carolina Fernandez Da Silva. Daniela Andreu and Elba Paez completed the podium in third place.

Switzerland

Bern, the capital, hosted the final stop of the Swiss Beach Volleyball Championships. The country`s highest-ranked women`s duo, Anouk Verge-Depre and Zoe Verge-Depre, claimed the national title with a tough 2-0 (23-21, 21-15) victory over Menia Bentele and Annique Niederhauser. Leona Kernen and Muriel Bossart secured the bronze. For the men, top seeds Florian Breer and Luc Fluckiger also triumphed as Swiss champions, overcoming the Swiss-Czech duo Nathan Broch and Filip Habr in a 2-1 (20-22, 21-15, 15-12) comeback win. Mael Masserey and Tinko Schnegg earned bronze.
