Atalanta's Sarri Focuses on Conference League Mentality Ahead of Hapoel Clash

August 24, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

Following their home victory against Sassuolo, Atalanta's manager Maurizio Sarri shared his thoughts with the club's official channels. "I am very satisfied with the first 30 minutes and the team's final character. In the middle part, we struggled defensively at times with the backline dropping a bit too low. I'm happy with the result, with the group, and with the fans who helped us immensely. It wasn't easy, with players returning from the World Cup sporadically, some injuries, and the transfer market; we arrived at the start of the championship with short breath. The team reacted, and that's good."

Winning breeds confidence, and now Hapoel awaits.
"We must approach this match with a strong mentality, convinced of our ability to succeed, knowing it will be difficult. There's little that comes easy in this game."

The fans have been supportive.
"They were with us even before the match. It was something truly beautiful. The sense of belonging felt here is significant."
