The quest for justice by Mizu will soon conclude, as the critically acclaimed animated series Blue Eye Samurai has been renewed for a third and final season.

Netflix confirmed on Thursday that the animated action series will wrap up after its upcoming third season. Alongside this announcement, a teaser trailer was released, confirming that Season 2 will premiere in January 2027, following the recent completion of its production.

Production for Season 3 has already commenced, with a projected release in 2028.

Co-created by the husband-and-wife team Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, Blue Eye Samurai centers on Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine), a mixed-race Japanese warrior on a path of vengeance. Her targets are four white men, including her father, who remained in Japan despite the Tokugawa shogunate's closure of the country's borders.

Since its debut on Netflix in 2023, the show has garnered significant recognition, including four Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, notably for Outstanding Animated Program for its first season.
