Inter Milan Finalizes £30 Million Deal for Liverpool's Curtis Jones

Inter Milan has successfully completed the transfer of Curtis Jones from Liverpool. The deal is reported to be worth €35 million (£30 million).

The Merseyside club accepted an offer comprising €30 million (£25.7 million) upfront, with an additional €5 million (£4.3 million) in performance-related add-ons. The 25-year-old midfielder has signed a contract with Inter that will keep him at the club until 2031.

As part of the agreement, Liverpool has secured a 10% sell-on clause for Jones.

Earlier in June, Liverpool had rejected a verbal offer of €25 million (£21.7 million) from the Serie A champions. At that time, the Premier League club valued their academy product, who had one year remaining on his contract, at approximately £35 million.

More recently, Liverpool indicated that a figure close to the £30 million package Inter paid Tottenham for Djed Spence would likely lead to an agreement.

Inter Milan had initially shown interest in Jones in January, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy, but this was turned down by Liverpool.

Jones made 228 appearances for Liverpool, having been handed his debut by Jurgen Klopp in 2019.

Last season, he featured in 49 matches across all competitions but started only 18 Premier League games, facing challenges in securing a regular starting position in midfield under Arne Slot.

Jones, who joined Liverpool's academy at the age of nine, becomes the third English player to sign for Inter this summer, following the arrivals of John Stones and Djed Spence.
