Filming for Kartik Aaryan's movie "Captain India" is scheduled to start in London this September and conclude by the end of October.

The film is under the direction of Shimit Amin, renowned for his 2007 hit "Chak De! India." "Captain India" is a collaborative production by T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and Baweja Studios, with contributions from Dopamine Studios. S.B. Films is overseeing the production.

"Captain India" is based on India's actual evacuation operations from a country embroiled in war. The script was penned by Nash Vazifdar, Sanchit Gupta, and Priyadarshee Shrivastava. A wider cast is expected to join Aaryan.

Aaryan's recent appearances include "Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri" and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3," with "Naagzilla" and other projects on the horizon. Amin, whose directorial credits include "Chak De! India" and "Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year" (2009), has focused less on feature films in recent years, though he did direct an episode of the BBC/Netflix series "A Suitable Boy" in 2020.

A film with the same title, "Captain India," was initially announced in 2021. At that time, Hansal Mehta was slated to direct for RSVP's Ronnie Screwvala and Baweja Studios' Harman Baweja, who also co-wrote that script version. Aaryan was cast as a pilot involved in a rescue mission, with principal photography anticipated to commence in early 2022.

The film is slated for release on August 13, 2027, coinciding with the Indian Independence Day weekend.

Production for "Captain India" officially begins on September 1.
