August 26, 2026Diego Herrera1 мин

Disney+ has confirmed that the 10-episode Korean drama "The Remarried Empress" will premiere in November. This series is an adaptation of the immensely popular Naver Webtoon of the same name, which has garnered nearly three billion views.

The story revolves around Empress Navier and Emperor Sovieshu of the Eastern Kingdom. Their marriage faces a crisis when Sovieshu becomes infatuated with a runaway slave. Navier consents to the emperor's request for remarriage on the condition that she be allowed to marry a rival monarch, Crown Prince Heinrey of the Western Kingdom. This sets the stage for a conflict over love and power, potentially destabilizing the kingdom as Navier strives to regain her status.

The cast includes Shin Mina ("Karma," "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha") as Empress Navier and Ju Jihoon ("Light Shop," "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call") as Emperor Sovieshu. Lee Jongsuk ("Big Mouth") portrays Crown Prince Heinrey, and Lee Seyoung ("The Red Sleeve," "The Crowned Clown") takes on the role of Rashta, the escaped slave who captures Sovieshu's attention.

The series was adapted for the screen by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol, with Cho Suwon ("Still 17," "Pinocchio") serving as director. Production involved filming in various locations, including European palaces and elaborate sets, according to Disney+.

"The Remarried Empress" will have its global debut at the Busan International Film Festival in October, where three episodes will be screened as part of the On Screen selection before its full release on Disney+.

The series will launch with a four-episode premiere on November 4th. Subsequently, two new episodes will be released every Wednesday, with the finale scheduled for November 25th.

This drama joins Disney+'s growing library of Korean Originals, which also features titles such as "Made In Korea," "Tempest," and "Moving."
