The 17-year-old left-handed player amassed an incredible 39 points in a single match against Iran on Thursday. This remarkable total stands as one of the highest individual scores ever recorded at this level of competition. His impressive tally included 34 points from attacks, four aces, and one block, highlighting his crucial role in leading Spain`s offense during the initial phase of the tournament.

For Irache, personal statistics are secondary to team success.

My only focus is to win, so I don’t concentrate on points. If reaching 39 points or more is what it takes for us to win, then that’s what I’ll do.

The talented young Spaniard, who recently signed with the Superliga Masculina club Pamesa Teruel, has long been recognized as one of his country`s most promising talents. He earned the Most Valuable Player award at the WEVZA U18 Championship, where Spain secured a gold medal, and was also the youngest player to be invited to Spain’s senior national team training camp for the European Golden League.

Now, on the global stage in Tashkent, Irache is a key figure for a confident Spanish squad that remains committed to a humble, focused approach.

We tackle each match as it comes. First, we had Iran, so that was our sole focus. Next, we face Egypt, and our attention will shift entirely to that game. It’s always about the very next match.

With his commanding height, powerful physique, and remarkable maturity, the 1.94-meter opposite is rapidly emerging as a prominent new face in Spanish men’s volleyball.

I want to extend my gratitude to everyone supporting Spain. We are fully committed to giving our absolute best to win this World Championship.

If his performance on opening day is any indicator, Cesar Irache and the Spanish team are just beginning their impressive run.
