Both Chieri and Milano, having secured maximum points on opening day, are scheduled to clash this Sunday in a highly anticipated match.
Only four teams emerged victorious with a full three points from the opening matches of the 2025-2026 Lega Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà season. Among these top performers, Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 and Numia Vero Volley Milano are set to compete against each other in this weekend`s second round.
Their highly anticipated match, the last of seven scheduled across Italy this weekend for the regular season`s second round, will kick off on Sunday at 18:00 local time (16:00 GMT).
The hosts of this weekend’s encounter, Chieri, began their season impressively, defeating Il Bisonte Firenze in four sets on the road last Monday. World champion outside hitter Stella Nervini was a standout player, scoring 17 points, closely followed by middle blocker Anna Gray with 16 points.
Meanwhile, Milano secured their three points at home, achieving a clean sweep against Bergamo. This season`s newly appointed captain, star opposite Paola Egonu, displayed exceptional form from the start, contributing 25 points.
Historically, Milano holds a strong record against Chieri in the Lega Femminile, winning 18 out of 22 previous encounters. Chieri`s most recent victory against Milano dates back to the 2020/2021 season, which also saw them win the Coppa Italia.
Scandicci and Perugia Kick Off the Weekend Matches
The second round of the Italian League commences on Saturday, featuring Savino Del Bene Scandicci hosting Bartoccini-Mc Restauri Perugia at 20:30 (18:30 GMT). Both teams earned points in their opening games, with Scandicci securing a full three points and Perugia one.
On Sunday, reigning champions Conegliano will play in front of their home crowd for the first time this season, facing Honda Cuneo Granda Volley at 16:00 (14:00 GMT). They narrowly avoided defeat in their opening match against Eurrotek Laica UYBA Busto Arsizio, staging a comeback from a two-set deficit to win in the tie-breaker.
Four additional matches are scheduled to begin concurrently on Sunday at 17:00 (15:00 GMT): CBF Balducci HR Macerata vs. Wash4Green Monviso Volley, Megabox Ondulati Savio Vallefoglia vs. Firenze, Igor Gorgonzola Novara vs. Busto Arsizio, and Bergamo vs. Omag-Mt San Giovanni In Marignano.
