The second edition of the Romanian Beach Volleyball Clubs Championships recently concluded, marking a significant milestone in the sport`s development within the country. This year`s event demonstrated growing participation, featuring seven men`s clubs and four women`s clubs. A notable aspect is the strong involvement of university clubs, which benefit from their respective institutions` full backing to promote and expand beach volleyball across Romania.

Women`s Competition: CSU ASE Bucharest Claims Back-to-Back Title

After three days filled with spectacular games, CSU ASE Bucharest emerged as the women`s champions for the second consecutive year. They secured their title by defeating CSU Galati in a closely contested final that culminated in a dramatic golden set, ending 21-19. The bronze medals in the women`s category were awarded to UVT Timisoara.

Men`s Competition: CSU Resita`s Dominant Performance

In the men`s competition, CSU Resita delivered an impressive performance, cruising to a comprehensive 2-0 victory over UVT Timisoara in the final. The bronze medals went to PRO Volei Arad, a privately-run club particularly focused on fostering beach volleyball talent among young boys, completing the podium.

This championship underscored the benefits of implementing a club-based competition, particularly vital in a country like Romania where players are typically registered with clubs. Such a structure allows athletes to pursue further achievements and recognition in beach volleyball on the sand.

As a direct result of their triumphs, both CSU ASE Bucharest and CSU Resita have earned the privilege to represent Romania in the preliminary phase of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2025, which is scheduled to take place in late September or early October.
