European Beach Volleyball Season in Full Swing Across 11 Nations

The national beach volleyball tour season is bustling across Europe, with events recently concluding in eleven countries. Here`s a recap of the key results and champions from the various tournaments:

Austria

The 2025 win2day Beach Volleyball Tour PRO recently visited Seewalchen. In the women`s event, the mixed Slovenian-Austrian team of Tjasa Kotnik & Magdalena Rabitsch clinched the title with a 2-1 (21-18, 11-21, 15-12) upset victory over top-seeded Lilli Hohenauer & Lia Berger. Czech duo Andrea Lorenzova & Mariana Tomasova secured bronze, defeating Sofija Saric & Stephanie Wiesmeyr 2-0 (21-13, 21-4).

For the men, top seeds Timo Hammarberg & Tim Berger narrowly won the final 2-0 (21-19, 22-20) against third-seeded Julian Horl & Alexander Horst. Christoph Dressler & Philipp Waller, seeded second, took third place after a tough 2-1 (21-19, 20-22, 15-10) battle against Georg Kostler & Maximilian Trummer.

Belgium

Leuven hosted a stop on the Belgian Beachvolley Championship tour before its upcoming Beach Pro Tour Futures event. The men`s final saw Seppe De Keyser & Jente De Keyser achieve a 2-1 comeback victory (17-21, 23-21, 15-9) over Casper Willems & Arne Darras. Pieter Winters & Timo De Gaspari claimed bronze with a dominant 2-0 (21-10, 21-4) win against second-seeded Alexy Humblet & Hugo Fischer.

In the women`s competition, second-seeded Youna Coens & Sarah Cools emerged victorious in a 2-1 (15-21, 21-19, 15-9) final against top-ranked Britt Ruysschaert & Isabel Van den Broeck. Jade Van Deun & Lotte De Clercq took bronze, upsetting third-seeded Simone Vervloet & Lente Thant 2-1 (15-21, 21-18, 15-10).

Bulgaria

The Bulgarian National Beach Volleyball Tour`s Byala stop featured a hard-fought women`s final where second-seeded Eleonora Gicheva & Darina Kindova secured a 2-1 (21-16, 16-21, 15-13) victory over third-seeded Irena Mishonova & Desislava Nikolova. Elitsa Hristova & Antoniya Nikolova earned bronze with a 2-0 (21-12, 21-19) win against Stefani Kyoseva & Veronika Ivanova.

In the men`s event, top seeds Dimitar Kalchev & Dimitar Mehandzhiyski lived up to expectations, winning gold emphatically 2-0 (21-12, 21-11) against Martin Yochev & Denislav Dimitrov. The bronze medal went to Hristiyan Velikov & Stefan Vartigov after a 2-1 (21-19, 16-21, 15-9) battle against Ivelin Iliev & Boris Georgiev.

Estonia

Kloogaranna hosted a stop on Estonia`s Rannavolle Suvetuur. The men`s title was claimed by top seeds Mart Tiisaar & Dimitriy Korotkov, who delivered a 2-0 (21-17, 21-12) sweep in the final against second-seeded Urmas Piik & Sander Steinberg. Siim Ennemuist & Karl Maidle secured bronze with a dramatic 2-0 (21-19, 29-27) victory over Patrik Parijogi & Armin Kender.

In the women`s tournament, Finland`s second-seeded Sara Sinisalo & Anniina Muukka clinched the crown after a hard-fought 2-1 (19-21, 21-17, 17-15) upset of top-seeded Liisa-Lotta Jurgenson & Eva Liisa Kuivonen. The bronze medal match also went to three sets, with Keira Liina Lukas & Sandra Lepp winning 2-1 (21-19, 13-21, 16-14) against third-seeded Latvians Marta Vildere & Amanda Regute.

France

The Villeneuve sur Lot stop on the France Beach Volley Series saw top-seeded Elsa Descamps & Romane Sobezalz take the women`s trophy with a 2-0 (21-13, 21-14) final sweep. Third-seeded Ophelie Lusson & Alex Merle earned silver, while Saofe Duval & Marilu Pally claimed bronze, managing a 2-1 (21-17, 15-21, 15-12) win over Anna Romero Saldarriaga & Claudia Santisteban.

For the men, Liam Patte & Tom Altwies achieved a 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) upset against top-seeded Charly Samier & Enzo Tomietto in the final. Third-seeded Keran Duval & Jules Bihouee secured bronze, upsetting second-seeded Noubet Ngatoum & Nicolas De Swetschin by 2-1 (18-21, 21-18, 15-12).

Germany

Munich fans witnessed top-seeded Paul Henning & Lui Wust secure a tight 2-0 (21-18, 22-20) victory over second-seeded Benedikt Sagstetter & Jonas Sagstetter in the men`s final of the German Beach Tour. Third-seeded Momme Lorenz & Tilo Rietschel, along with qualifiers Tamo Wust & Tristan Frobel, shared the third place.

In the women`s gold medal match, second-seeded Lea Kunst & Melanie Paul managed a 2-0 (21-19, 23-21) upset of top-ranked Sandra Ittlinger & Anna-Lena Grune. Anna Behlen & Sarah Schulz, and qualifiers Nele Barber & Melanie Gernert, jointly finished in third place.

Hungary

The Tata stop on the Telekom Beach Volleyball Hungarian Championship tour featured a women`s final decided by narrow margins in two sets. Top-seeded Stefania Kun & Lilla Villam triumphed 2-0 (25-23, 21-19) over second-seeded Chiara Honti-Majoros & Adrienn Posztos-Szabo. The bronze medal was claimed by third-seeded Hanna Gubik & Eszter Nagy in a similar 2-0 (21-19, 21-19) fashion against Tamara Streli & Alma Matkovits.

In the men`s final, Artur Hajos & Lukas Niemeier delivered a 2-0 (21-18, 21-17) upset against second-seeded Akos Veress & Bence Tari. Balazs Ferenc Fazekas & Matyas Papp took bronze after a 2-0 (21-16, 21-15) sweep against qualifiers Vilmos Szabo & Marcell Mikulass.

Italy

Third-seeded Manuel Alfieri & Alex Ranghieri won the men`s gold at the Montesilvano stop on the Fonzies Absolute Italian Beach Volleyball Championship tour, achieving a 2-0 (21-15, 21-15) victory over Giacomo Spadoni & Michele Luisetto in the final. Matteo Martino & Simone Podesta secured a 2-1 (19-21, 21-16, 15-10) bronze-medal victory over Davis Krumins & Marco Caminati.

In the women`s final, the two highest-seeded teams clashed, with top-ranked Chiara They & Sara Breidenbach celebrating a 2-1 (18-21, 21-15, 15-8) comeback against Alice Gradini & Federica Frasca. Sharin Rottoli & Oriola Shpuza mastered a 2-0 (21-16, 21-14) victory over Jessica Bellero Piccinin & Claudia Puccinelli for the bronze.

Poland

Przysucha hosted the Poland Cup event on the Orlen Beach Volley Tour. Second-seeded Marta Lodej & Julia Kielak topped the women`s podium with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-18) victory over Czech qualifiers Karin Zolnercikova & Valerie Dvornikova in the final. Top-seeded Germans Linda Bock & Louisa Lippmann secured bronze with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) sweep against Malgorzata Ciezkowska & Urszula Lunio.

For the men, top-seeded Jedrzej Brozyniak & Piotr Janiak delivered a 2-0 (21-16, 21-15) shutout against Piotr Kantor & Artem Besarab in the final. Latvian qualifiers Ardis Bedritis & Arturs Rinkevics claimed bronze following a 2-0 (21-15, 21-17) victory over second-seeded Aleksander Czachorowski & Filip Lejawa.

Romania

The first stop on the 2025 Romanian national tour in Sibiu featured an all-Moldovan men`s final. Egor Dobcis & Maxim Korsakov secured a 2-1 (21-16, 15-21, 15-10) victory over compatriots Maxim Voleanin & Timofei Chisleacov. Second-seeded Radu Mihai Muresan & Andrei Spinu took bronze as top-ranked Valentin Hupoiu & Bogdan Bratosin forfeited the third-place match.

Beata Vaida & Francesca Alupei triumphed in the women`s tournament, sweeping the final against top-seeded Ioana Sorina Hododi & Denisa Bianca Popa 2-0 (21-12, 21-18). The bronze went to Ana Maria Cristina Armeanu & Ioana Andreea Miu after a 2-1 (21-17, 19-21, 15-11) win over Moldova’s Ana Nicolaev & Inessa Staver.

Slovakia

Slovenia’s Tajda Lovsin & Ziva Javornik, living up to their top-seed status, celebrated women`s gold at the Bratislava stop on Slovakia’s 2025 Nike Summer Beach Tour, securing an emphatic 2-0 (21-9, 21-17) victory over second-seeded Barbora Tokosova & Martina Terenova in the final. The bronze medal playoff was a three-set battle, with third-seeded Eva Elekova & Andrea Bundzelova winning 2-1 (18-21, 22-20, 15-10) against Andrea Spevarova & Lesia Slezakova.

In the men`s main draw, Czechia’s Martin Melmuka & Martin Pihera, seeded second, topped the podium with a 2-1 (21-17, 19-21, 15-13) victory over Marek Ludha & Michal Trubac. Another Czech duo, Jakub Vala & Jiri Dostal, completed the podium, winning the bronze medal game 2-0 (21-19, 21-13) against Igor Horvath & Simon Cervenak.
