FIVB, Abhinav Bindra Foundation, and Chandigarh Launch Transformative School Volleyball Programme

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), in collaboration with the Abhinav Bindra Foundation Trust (ABFT) and the Chandigarh Administration, has officially inaugurated the “Udaan” School Volleyball Programme. This groundbreaking initiative is strategically designed to integrate volleyball into the standard school sports curriculum, aiming to inspire widespread participation among students across the entire region.

This newly launched programme is a direct evolution of the successful Knowledge Transfer Programme, which previously took place from August 18th to 22nd. During that intensive five-day event, world-renowned FIVB instructors John Kessel and Jana Kulan provided comprehensive training to 120 physical education teachers sourced from 108 different government schools. The curriculum covered essential volleyball skills, modern teaching methodologies, and the fundamental principles of Olympic values. This extensive training has equipped these educators to collectively influence and engage more than 140,000 students throughout Chandigarh. The immediate and overwhelming enthusiasm for the programme was clearly evident, with many schools promptly launching their own volleyball sessions on the very next day following the training.
