Four teams aim to extend perfect record in the CEV Volleyball European Golden League 2025 Men

The second week of the CEV Volleyball European Golden League 2025 Men`s tournament is underway across four European locations. Following the first week, four teams remain undefeated.

Finland, Romania, Israel, and Greece are the four teams with perfect records. They have an opportunity to extend their winning streaks this week, as their schedules do not include matches against each other. Meanwhile, Czechia, already qualified as the Final Four host, will look to improve their current 1-1 standing.

Finland and Romania were the only teams to win their initial matches in straight sets. This week, they face potentially tougher opponents as they seek to maintain their perfect records and set-win margins.

Finland`s next challenge comes against Czechia in Podgorica. Czechia is a strong team and automatically qualified for the Final Four. Tournament hosts Montenegro, who have lost their first two matches, will be aiming for their first victory of the competition in Podgorica.

Romania`s matches this week are against Spain and Croatia in Zadar, Croatia. The host nation, Croatia, currently has two losses but will be motivated to turn their fortunes around, especially after securing a podium finish in the Golden League for the past three consecutive years.

Greece started strong with identical 3-1 victories against Spain and Portugal. They travel to Daugavpils, Latvia, this week to face Latvia and North Macedonia, aiming to extend their perfect run. Latvia has managed one win so far, while North Macedonia is currently the only team yet to win a single set.

Last season`s Silver League champions, Israel, made a strong statement in Week 1 with impressive 3-1 wins over Croatia and Czechia. Competing in Loulé, Portugal, this week against Slovakia (1-1) and Portugal (0-2), Israel has a significant opportunity to solidify their position for a potential Final Four spot.

Individual performances also highlighted Week 1. Greece boasts two players among the top three scorers: Dimitrios Mouchlias leads with 36 points, and Athanasios Protopsaltis is third with 34 points. Spain`s Jordi Ramon Ferragut sits second with 35 points.

Parallel to the Golden League, the CEV Volleyball European Silver League 2025 Men`s competition also continues this weekend with tournaments in Kopavogur, Iceland, and Baku, Azerbaijan. Sweden and Luxembourg are the only teams with a perfect 100% winning record in the Silver League after the first week.
