Germany, a powerhouse in continental beach volleyball, has added yet another coveted title to its collection, triumphing in the fourth edition of the CEV Beach Volley Nations Cup. The thrilling Finals concluded on Sunday in Espinho, Portugal, solidifying Germany`s dominant position in the sport.

As the nation boasting a remarkable nine EuroBeachVolley titles on the women`s side and the only European country to secure an Olympic gold medal with a female duo, Germany further cemented its status as a leading force in the sport with this victory at Praia da Baía.

Remaining undefeated throughout the entire week-long competition in Portugal, the German teams faced a spirited challenge from emerging Ukrainian duos in the decisive series. Despite the strong opposition, Germany secured the title by winning both crucial duels.

The first match of the final series proved to be an intense showdown. Germany`s new pairing, Sandra Ittlinger and Anna-Lena Grüne, emerged victorious over Valentyna Davidova and Anhelina Khmil of Ukraine in a gripping tie-breaker (18-21, 21-14, 15-13), giving Germany the initial lead.

Approximately an hour later, the reigning EuroBeachVolley champions, Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann, stepped onto the court. They reaffirmed their reputation as the continent`s top team by decisively beating Maryna Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko in straight sets (21-18, 21-8), sparking joyous German celebrations in Portugal.

This impressive victory in Espinho not only brought Germany another trophy but also secured them an additional qualification spot for the upcoming 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship. This prestigious global event is scheduled to take place in Australia from November 14-23, with Germany earning their pathway through this continental triumph.

The Beach Nations Cup, an innovative `country versus country` competition reminiscent of tennis`s Davis Cup, was first introduced to the European beach volleyball calendar in 2022 and continues to be a highlight of the season.
