The world of beach volleyball has been buzzing with excitement, as national champions were crowned in Austria, Germany, and Italy, while intense tour events unfolded in Ecuador, Japan, Spain, and Turkiye. Here`s a comprehensive look at the top performances and key results from recent competitions.

Austria

Kitzbuehel hosted the highly anticipated grand finale of the 2025 win2day Beach Volleyball Tour PRO, where Austria`s finest battled for national glory.

Women`s Championship

Sisters Ronja Klinger & Dorina Klinger clinched the women`s title. The top-seeded duo showcased their dominance by defeating second-seeded Lilli Hohenauer & Lia Berger with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-14) victory in the final match. The bronze medal was secured by Magdalena Rabitsch & Anja Trailovic, who overcame Birgit Schottl & Stephanie Wiesmeyr 2-0 (21-17, 21-16) in the third-place playoff.

Men`s Championship

In the men`s category, bracket leaders Timo Hammarberg & Tim Berger emerged as champions, sweeping the final against second-seeded Christoph Dressler & Philipp Waller 2-0 (21-17, 21-17). Mathias Seiser & Laurenc Grossig earned the bronze, delivering a close 2-0 (21-19, 21-19) win against seasoned Olympians Alexander Huber & Robin Seidl.

Ecuador

Quito, the capital city, was the site for another stop on Ecuador’s Zero Latitude Tour, featuring thrilling matches and notable performances.

Men`s Event

Top-seeded duo Jose Bowen & Isaac Jimenez lived up to expectations, winning the men’s competition. They delivered an emphatic 2-0 (21-12, 21-11) defeat to the mixed Ecuadorian-Venezuelan team of Jefferson Angulo & Genelson Romero. Second-seeded Rafael Cardenas & Diego Espana claimed bronze after a tight 2-0 (23-21, 21-19) victory over Evan Tapia & Elian Varela.

Women`s Event

The women’s final saw second-seeded Romina Arroyo & Valentina Huacon triumph 2-1 (21-19, 11-21, 15-11) against third-seeded Anyela Meza & Mell Rodriguez Navarrete. Daniela Barreno & Luciana Fiallos secured the bronze medal with a 2-0 (21-16, 21-18) win over Andrea Giler & Rafaela Guzman.

Germany

Timmendorfer Strand hosted the German Beach Volleyball Championships for the final time, bringing the German Beach Tour to a dramatic close.

Women`s Championship

The stellar team of Svenja Muller & Cinja Tillmann, who were bracket leaders, clinched the women’s crown. They staged an impressive 2-1 (14-21, 21-15, 15-6) comeback victory in the gold medal match against Sandra Ittlinger & Anna-Lena Grune. Nele Barber & Melanie Gernert were awarded the bronze due to an injury-prompted withdrawal by third-seeded Lea Kunst & Melanie Paul from the third-place playoff.

Men`s Championship

Third-seeded Sven Winter & Lukas Pfretzschner surprised many by lifting the men’s championship trophy, achieving a 2-0 (21-17, 21-14) upset over top-seeded Paul Henning & Lui Wust in the final. Paris 2024 Olympic silver medalists Nils Ehlers & Clemens Wickler, seeded second, earned bronze after a narrow 2-0 (22-20, 23-21) victory against Benedikt Sagstetter & Jonas Sagstetter.

Italy

Bellaria Igea Marina set the stage for the final event of this year`s Fonzies Absolute Italian Beach Volleyball Championship tour, where the 2025 Italian champions were determined.

Men`s Championship

Top seeds Manuel Alfieri & Alex Ranghieri lived up to their ranking, earning the men’s national title with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) victory over Mauro Sacripanti & Giacomo Titta in the gold medal match. Daniele Lupo & Davide Borraccino received the bronze medal via a forfeit from Fabrizio Manni & Jakob Windisch.

Women`s Championship

Women’s bracket leaders Valentina Gottardi & Reka Orsi Toth also claimed their national title, defeating Alice Gradini & Federica Frasca 2-0 (21-17, 21-15) in the final. Arianna Barboni & Luna Cicola secured the bronze medal, also by forfeit, against third-seeded Giada Bianchi & Claudia Scampoli.

Japan

The Hokkaido stop on the Japan Beach Volleyball Tour showcased strong competition and international participation.

Women`s Event

Third-seeded Ren Matsumoto & Non Matsumoto celebrated triumph at the Hokkaido event. They made a stunning 2-1 (14-21, 21-12, 15-10) comeback victory in the women’s final. The third place in the final standings was shared by the two semifinal losers: second-seeded Asami Shiba & Reika Murakami and bracket leaders Sakura Ito & Mayu Sawame.

Men`s Event

The mixed duo of Japan’s Taito Mizumachi and New Zealand’s Thomas Hartles topped the men’s podium. They achieved a 2-0 (21-17, 21-13) victory over another international pairing, Germany’s Martin Kaufer and Japan’s Kensuke Shoji (third seeds). Top-seeded Hiroki Dylan Kurokawa & Yoshiumi Hasegawa and second-seeded Yusuke Ishijima (Gottsu) & Shoki Ueda jointly secured third place.

The Spanish National Beach Volleyball Circuit made a stop in Gijon, delivering unexpected outcomes and fierce competition.

Men`s Event

Wild cards Cesar Menendez & Francisco Tomas pulled off an upset, claiming the men’s gold after defeating top-seeded Jorge Pascual & Tomas Agost 2-0 (23-21, 21-16) in the final. Third place was jointly awarded to the semifinal losers: the second-seeded Spanish-Ukrainian pairing of Raul Mesa & Sviatoslav Karvatskyi and third-seeded Jose Aba & Manuel Aba.

Women`s Event

Second-seeded Maria Sevillano & Lucy Ifoma Monteiro stood atop the women’s podium, earning a 2-0 (21-15, 21-11) win over Aida Perez Gomez & Clara Barrios in the final. The other two semifinalists – top-seeded Caliope Garcia & Nerea Ruiz and third-seeded Amparo Hopf & Maria Gomez Sanchez – shared the third place.

Mersin hosted an exciting stage of Turkiye’s Bioderma Pro Beach Tour, featuring an all-Iranian podium in the men`s tournament.

An entirely Iranian podium formed at the men’s tournament. Alireza Aghajanighasab & Abbas Pourasgari secured first place following a hard-fought 2-1 (21-19, 12-21, 15-13) victory against compatriots Bahman Salemiinjehboroun & Mojtaba Aro in the final. Arash Vakili & Mohammad Mahdi Rezaei won the bronze medal game 2-0 (21-19, 21-18) against the third-seeded mixed Turkish-Zimbabwean pairing of Umut Aksular & Rufaro Douglas Choto.
