Global Volleyball Movement Observes Olympic Day

Millions globally, including the Global Volleyball Movement, are observing Olympic Day today, celebrating the essence of sport and the values of the Olympic spirit.

This year`s Olympic Day theme, `Let’s Move?`, is a straightforward encouragement: engage in physical activity, invite others to join you, and integrate movement into your daily life. Movement is a unifying force, whether on a court, beach, or park, and volleyball perfectly embodies this connection.

Volleyball and beach volleyball were central to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Beach volleyball created memorable scenes by the Eiffel Tower, and indoor volleyball energized the South Paris Arena 1. Beyond the competitions, the Volleyball Foundation organized `Volleyball Experiences` at both sites, engaging over 300,000 fans. These interactive events allowed supporters to connect with the sport in new ways, offering everything from fun challenges to encounters with international athletes.

Volleyball fosters connection and teamwork, accessible anywhere, anytime, and with anyone. From competing for a World Championship gold medal to simply playing with friends, participating means being part of the Global Volleyball Movement.

Volleyball is experiencing rapid growth, currently involving over 800 million individuals and aiming to reach 1.6 billion by the next Olympic cycle. This expansion is guided by the FIVB Strategic Vision 2032, founded on four key principles: professionalism, integration, empowerment, and mass participation. This represents a sustained effort to enhance volleyball`s accessibility, inclusivity, and positive influence globally.

Therefore, on this Olympic Day, we encourage everyone to participate. Find a ball, gather a friend, and enjoy playing volleyball!
