Haak Sisters Lead Sweden to Historic World Championship Appearance

Anna and Isabelle Haak, sisters from Sweden, are making their joint debut at the Volleyball World Championship, a momentous occasion they feel has been a long time coming.

“I’m so excited to start the games on Thursday, and it was such a great welcome coming here to Bangkok,” Anna said. “I just can’t wait.”

Isabelle, her younger sister, characterized their team`s qualification as a significant breakthrough. She described an “amazing feeling” upon realizing their ranking points were sufficient.

“We’ve been working on this for years, and I don’t think we thought we would be here when we started the national team. But we’re here now, and it feels amazing,” Isabelle explained.

Anna highlighted the team`s long-term dedication, spanning a decade of summer training camps and participation in European championships. Their journey involved progressively larger steps each year, culminating in this World Championship debut. She confirmed recent strong preparations in Korea, stating the team is “more than ready to get started.”

Isabelle shared that competing alongside her sister, Anna, makes the experience exceptionally special. She expressed deep gratitude, noting how they`ve navigated countless emotions, triumphs, and defeats together over the years. Isabelle views this World Championship as their most significant national team experience yet, emphasizing that “having your sister here makes everything ten times better.”

Anna concluded by thanking supporters, encouraging them to watch their upcoming games, and expressing anticipation to connect with fans.
