Кипр успешно провел четвертый национальный семинар в рамках проекта CEV School Project “Играй в волейбол – развивайся с ним”, направленного на популяризацию волейбола среди молодежи. В мероприятии, ставшем значительным шагом для развития волейбола на острове, приняли участие 47 тренеров и 11 учителей физкультуры со всего Кипра. Подобные семинары ранее проходили в Албании, Гренландии и Словении.

Федерация волейбола Кипра является партнером проекта CEV с 2019 года, и этот семинар еще больше укрепил его позиции. Программа включала теоретическую часть в отеле Pefkos в Лимассоле и практические занятия в спортивном зале AEL Limassol. Ведущим экспертом выступила Мария Фарсунд из Норвегии, член Европейской комиссии тренеров. Она представила концепцию проекта CEV School Project, образовательные материалы (включая пособие и видео) и поделилась ценным опытом работы с юными спортсменами. На практической сессии были продемонстрированы упражнения и тренировки, основанные на теоретических принципах.

Все участники получили новое пособие CEV School Project PVGW2.0 и доступ к базе образовательных видеороликов, разработанных CEV и партнерами проекта. Этот семинар стал первым подобным мероприятием на Кипре, и Кипрская федерация волейбола уже планирует повторить его в мае 2026 года, чтобы предоставить возможность большему количеству специалистов улучшить свои знания. Участие в семинаре является обязательным для учителей и тренеров, задействованных в образовательной программе по волейболу и системе лицензирования на Кипре.

Завершился семинар торжественной церемонии вручения сертификатов 58 участникам и медалей детям, помогавшим в проведении практических занятий. Один из учителей, представляющий ассоциацию учителей Кипра, выразил намерение распространять полученные знания в школах, чтобы как можно больше детей познакомились с волейболом на средиземноморском острове.

Cyprus successfully hosted its fourth national workshop as part of the CEV School Project “Play Volleyball – Grow with it,” an initiative aimed at promoting volleyball among young people. The event, which marks a significant stride for the sport`s development on the island, gathered 47 coaches and 11 physical education teachers from across Cyprus. Similar workshops had previously taken place in Albania, Greenland, and Slovenia.

The Cyprus Volleyball Federation has been a partner of the CEV project since 2019, and this latest workshop further strengthened its position. The program featured a theoretical session held at the Pefkos Hotel in Limassol, followed by practical training at the nearby AEL Limassol Sports Hall. Maria Farsund from Norway, a member of the European Coaches Commission, led the sessions as the main expert. She introduced the CEV School Project concept, presented educational materials (including a handbook and various videos), and shared invaluable insights from her extensive experience working with young athletes. The practical session included demonstrations of exercises and drills, all carefully linked to the theoretical principles discussed earlier.

All participants received the new CEV School Project handbook PVGW2.0 and gained access to a comprehensive database of educational videos developed by CEV and its project partners. This workshop holds historical significance as the first of its kind ever organized in Cyprus. Building on this success, the Cyprus Volleyball Federation is already planning a repeat event for May 2026, aiming to provide even more professionals with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge. Participation in these workshops is mandatory for teachers and coaches involved in Cyprus`s national volleyball educational program and licensing system.

The workshop concluded with a special ceremony where certificates of attendance were awarded to all 58 participants. Medals were also presented to the children who played a crucial role in assisting with the practical training sessions. One of the participating teachers, representing a Cypriot teachers’ association, expressed his strong commitment to disseminating the newly acquired knowledge in schools, ensuring that as many children as possible are introduced to the sport of volleyball across the Mediterranean island.
