Malå COOP SnowVolley Cup: A Spectacular Snow Volleyball Event

Snow Volleyball

Building on last year`s triumph, Malå IF aimed to elevate the COOP SnowVolley Cup even further this year, and they unequivocally succeeded. Key enhancements included attracting more teams from nearby clubs, optimizing audience logistics, and featuring an engaging speaker/DJ. These improvements, coupled with impeccably prepared courts and ideal weather, inspired both players and volunteers to enthusiastically begin planning for an even more ambitious event next year.

`Final
The thrilling final match saw Pysslingarna narrowly defeat Slay Sisters in a decisive set, securing the win at 20-18.

The COOP SnowVolley Cup 2024 commenced under cloudy skies, with temperatures around -6 degrees Celsius and a gentle 2 m/s breeze. As the day progressed, the sun emerged, warming the arena to zero degrees, providing perfect conditions for both athletes and spectators. The event fostered a supportive and friendly environment, with some teams showcasing elite skill while others made up for any deficiencies with sheer enthusiasm. Semifinal and final rounds were particularly intense, with many sets concluding with a tight 20-18 score.

`Norsjö
Norsjö players, known for their strong volleyball and beach traditions, performed admirably, clinching the bronze medal against Oklart, a team featuring three elite players from Umeå.

Particular gratitude is extended to the organizing committee, led by Maria Larsson and Johan Grensell. Their dedicated efforts have established a robust and highly enthusiastic organizational structure. They are currently investigating avenues to both expand their own event and engage other regional clubs.
