Matin Hosseini Leads Iran to Second Consecutive U21 Volleyball World Title, Crowned MVP

Jiangmen, China – Iran`s 19-year-old outside hitter, Seyed Matin Hosseini, was officially named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship. His stellar performance was pivotal in guiding his team to secure their second consecutive world title.

Hosseini impressed throughout the championship with his comprehensive skills, earning him a spot as one of the Best Outside Hitters in the prestigious Dream Team. He concluded the tournament with an outstanding 112 points, which included 81 points from attacks, 13 from blocks, and 18 from service aces, averaging over 12 points per match. Matin’s consistent performance and significant all-round contribution on the court undoubtedly cemented his reputation as the top performer of the tournament.

Iran`s dominance was further accentuated by the recognition of several other key players in the Dream Team. Taahaa Behboudnia was named among the Best Middle Blockers, Emran Kook Jili received honors as Best Setter, and Morteza Tabatabaei was celebrated as Best Libero. The inclusion of these players highlights the team`s exceptional depth and strong cohesion, which were crucial in securing the gold medal.

Completing the Dream Team lineup were other standout athletes from around the world. Sean Kelly of the United States joined Hosseini as another Best Outside Hitter, contributing significantly to his team’s historic bronze medal win. Italian opposite Tomasso Barotto was recognized as Best Opposite, while Pardo Mati rounded out the impressive middle blocker pairing.
