Valentina Bifflin, President of the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association (MEVZA), and Frane Zanic, MEVZA Director and President of the Croatian Volleyball Federation, recently visited Cyprus as official guests of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation. This visit served to reaffirm the strong cooperative relationship between the two organizations.

On Friday evening, the MEVZA delegation attended the men`s Super Cup Final at Afrodite Hall. The match saw reigning national champions Pafiakos PAFOS face Anorthosis FAMAGUSTA, last year`s national cup runners-up. After an exciting contest, Pafiakos PAFOS secured a 3-1 victory, marking their fifth Super Cup title since the competition began in 1992. Both Mrs. Bifflin and Mr. Zanic participated in the post-match awards ceremony.

The following morning, the MEVZA officials addressed the annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation. Dr. Costas Constantinou, the NF President, extended a warm welcome to the guests. Before the assembly commenced, a minute of silence was held to honor Andreas Stavrou, an Honorary BoA Member, former Small Countries Division President, and Honorary NF President, who had passed away earlier in the year.
In their speeches, Mrs. Bifflin and Mr. Zanic underscored the significance of Cyprus`s participation in the zonal association and lauded the considerable progress of Cyprus Volleyball over the past two years. This occasion marked the first time in the history of Cyprus Volleyball that foreign officials addressed the General Assembly delegates.

In appreciation of their contributions and ongoing support, the President of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation presented the MEVZA representatives with commemorative plaques, which were small replicas of the Super Cup shields designed for the 2025 competition.

Later the same day, the MEVZA delegation witnessed the women’s Super Cup Final at Lefkotheo Hall in Nicosia. This match pitted national league and cup holders Olympiada Neapolis against national cup silver medalists Apollon LIMASSOL. Olympiada Neapolis emerged victorious, defeating Apollon in straight sets to claim their fourth consecutive title in the competition. The MEVZA President and Director also participated in this awards ceremony.
