The giants will meet in the only match of the day, with six more duels happening on Friday.

Milano and Conegliano will meet for the fourth time in the season on Saturday.
The fourth leg of the second round of the 2025-2026 Lega Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà regular season concludes this Saturday with a massive derby between Numia Vero Volley Milano and defending champions Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano. This high-stakes clash, one of the premier rivalries in women`s club volleyball over the past five years, will be the sole match played on Saturday.
All other six duels are scheduled for Friday. The main event kicks off at 18:00 local time (19:00 UTC) at the Allianz Cloud in Milano.
A Rivalry Defined by Finals
Since the 2021-2022 season, these two powerhouses have faced off in 11 major finals, spanning both Italian and European competitions. While Conegliano has historically dominated, winning ten of those encounters, Milano secured a significant victory in October, defeating their rivals in the 2025 Supercoppa Italiana Fineco to claim their first national title.
Milano’s Current Challenge: Milano currently sits in fifth place with 34 points (11 wins, five losses). A victory in the derby is crucial for them to re-enter the league`s top four and prevent losing further ground. The Northern Italian side needs to rebound quickly after Tuesday`s unexpected upset loss to Megabox Ondulati Del Savio Vallefoglia, a defeat that caused them to drop a spot in the rankings.
Head coach Stefano Lavarini acknowledged the team`s inconsistencies:
“We had too many ups and downs in the first three legs of the second round of the regular season, and that has cost us some important points, which created a little bit of a gap to the teams ahead of us. Conegliano is a top opponent, and that will motivate us to recover from the defeat to Vallefoglia.”
Conegliano Remains Undefeated
Conegliano remains the league`s only undefeated team, isolated at the top of the standings with 46 points (16 wins), maintaining a six-point lead over second-placed Savino Del Bene Scandicci. The Panthers recently returned from the FIVB Volleyball Women`s Club World Championship and strategically rested key starters in recent matches, ensuring they are fresh for this decisive Saturday clash.
The defending champions boast an exceptionally strong historical record against Milano in the Italian League, having won 37 of 43 total encounters. Furthermore, they have triumphed in 17 of the last 18 duels between the two clubs.
Six Matches Set for Friday
Six more matches are scheduled for Friday (Boxing Day), preceding the main derby. The action starts at 16:00 (17:00 UTC) with San Giovanni versus Vallefoglia. Three simultaneous matches follow at 17:00 (18:00 UTC):
- Cuneo vs. Wash4Green Monviso Volley
- Bartoccini-Mc Restauri Perugia vs. CBF Balducci HR Macerata
- Igor Gorgonzola Novara vs. Bergamo
Eurotek Laica UYBA Busto Arsizio and Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri `76 play at 18:00 (19:00 UTC), and the day concludes 30 minutes later with Il Bisonte Firenze against Scandicci.
