Austria
The Austrian beach volleyball championships, marking the grand finale of the 2025 win2day Beach Volleyball Tour PRO, recently concluded in Kitzbuehel. The women`s title was claimed by the formidable duo Ronja Klinger & Dorina Klinger, who secured a 2-0 (21-19, 21-14) victory over second-seeded Lilli Hohenauer & Lia Berger in the final. Magdalena Rabitsch & Anja Trailovic earned the bronze medal, defeating Birgit Schottl & Stephanie Wiesmeyr 2-0 (21-17, 21-16) in the third-place playoff.
In the men’s competition, bracket leaders Timo Hammarberg & Tim Berger were crowned champions after a decisive 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) sweep against second-seeded Christoph Dressler & Philipp Waller. Mathias Seiser & Laurenc Grossig secured the bronze, delivering a narrow 2-0 (21-19, 21-19) win over seasoned Olympians Alexander Huber & Robin Seidl.
Ecuador
Another stop on Ecuador’s Zero Latitude Tour took place in the capital, Quito. In the men’s event, top-seeded Jose Bowen & Isaac Jimenez lived up to expectations, securing the title with an emphatic 2-0 (21-12, 21-11) victory over the mixed Ecuadorian-Venezuelan team of Jefferson Angulo & Genelson Romero. Rafael Cardenas & Diego Espana took the bronze after a tight 2-0 (23-21, 21-19) win against Evan Tapia & Elian Varela.
The women’s final saw second-seeded Romina Arroyo & Valentina Huacon triumph in a 2-1 (21-19, 11-21, 15-11) battle against third-seeded Anyela Meza & Mell Rodriguez Navarrete. The bronze medal went to Daniela Barreno & Luciana Fiallos, who secured a 2-0 (21-16, 21-18) win over Andrea Giler & Rafaela Guzman.
Germany
Timmendorfer Strand hosted the German Beach Volleyball Championships, the finals of the German Beach Tour, for the last time. The women’s crown was claimed by the stellar team of Svenja Muller & Cinja Tillmann, who mounted a 2-1 (14-21, 21-15, 15-6) comeback victory in the gold medal match against Sandra Ittlinger & Anna-Lena Grune. Due to an injury-prompted withdrawal by third-seeded Lea Kunst & Melanie Paul, Nele Barber & Melanie Gernert were awarded the bronze medal.
In the men’s championship, third-seeded Sven Winter & Lukas Pfretzschner lifted the trophy after a 2-0 (21-17, 21-14) upset victory over top-seeded Paul Henning & Lui Wust in the final. Paris 2024 Olympic silver medalists Nils Ehlers & Clemens Wickler, seeded second, secured the bronze medal with a narrow 2-0 (22-20, 23-21) win over Benedikt Sagstetter & Jonas Sagstetter for third place.
Italy
The 2025 Italian champions were determined at the final event of this year’s Fonzies Absolute Italian Beach Volleyball Championship tour, held in Bellaria Igea Marina. Manuel Alfieri & Alex Ranghieri, living up to their top-seed status, secured the men’s title with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) victory over Mauro Sacripanti & Giacomo Titta in the gold medal match. Daniele Lupo & Davide Borraccino were awarded the bronze medal via a forfeit win against Fabrizio Manni & Jakob Windisch.
In the women’s category, bracket leaders Valentina Gottardi & Reka Orsi Toth also claimed the national title, achieving a 2-0 (21-17, 21-15) victory over Alice Gradini & Federica Frasca in the final. Arianna Barboni & Luna Cicola earned the bronze after winning their third-place game against third-seeded Giada Bianchi & Claudia Scampoli by forfeit.
Japan
Third-seeded Ren Matsumoto & Non Matsumoto emerged victorious at the Hokkaido stop on the Japan Beach Volleyball Tour. In the women’s final, they staged a remarkable 2-1 (14-21, 21-12, 15-10) comeback win. The third place in the final standings was shared by the two semifinal losers: second-seeded Asami Shiba & Reika Murakami, and bracket leaders Sakura Ito & Mayu Sawame.
The men’s podium was topped by the mixed duo of Japan’s Taito Mizumachi and New Zealand’s Thomas Hartles. They secured a 2-0 (21-17, 21-13) victory over another international pairing, Germany’s Martin Kaufer and Japan’s Kensuke Shoji, who were seeded third. Top-seeded Hiroki Dylan Kurokawa & Yoshiumi Hasegawa, along with second-seeded Yusuke Ishijima (Gottsu) & Shoki Ueda, jointly claimed third place.
Spain
Cesar Menendez & Francisco Tomas claimed the men’s gold at the Spanish National Beach Volleyball Circuit stop in Gijon. As wild cards, they delivered a 2-0 (23-21, 21-16) upset victory over top-seeded Jorge Pascual & Tomas Agost in the final. The third place was jointly occupied by the second-seeded Spanish-Ukrainian pairing of Raul Mesa & Sviatoslav Karvatskyi, and third-seeded Jose Aba & Manuel Aba, both of whom lost in the semifinals.
Second-seeded Maria Sevillano & Lucy Ifoma Monteiro topped the women’s podium, securing a 2-0 (21-15, 21-11) win against Aida Perez Gomez & Clara Barrios in the final. The other two semifinalists – top-seeded Caliope Garcia & Nerea Ruiz, and third-seeded Amparo Hopf & Maria Gomez Sanchez – shared the third place in the final standings.
Turkiye
An all-Iranian podium characterized the men’s tournament in Mersin, part of Turkiye’s Bioderma Pro Beach Tour. Alireza Aghajanighasab & Abbas Pourasgari secured first place after a hard-fought 2-1 (21-19, 12-21, 15-13) victory over compatriots Bahman Salemiinjehboroun & Mojtaba Aro in the final. In the bronze medal game, Arash Vakili & Mohammad Mahdi Rezaei delivered a 2-0 (21-19, 21-18) win over the third-seeded mixed Turkish-Zimbabwean pairing of Umut Aksular & Rufaro Douglas Choto.
