National Beach Volleyball Tour: Winners Crowned in Bulgaria, France, Slovakia, Spain, and Ukraine

Recent national beach volleyball tour events across Europe have concluded, with champions crowned in Bulgaria, France, Slovakia, Spain, and Ukraine. Teams battled intensely, delivering thrilling matches and showcasing exceptional talent on the sand.

Bulgaria

The third-seeded duo of Irena Mishonova and Desislava Nikolova clinched the women`s title at the recent Bulgarian National Beach Volleyball Tour stop in Varna. They secured a decisive 2-0 (21-18, 21-7) victory in the final against second seeds Eleonora Gicheva and Darina Kindova. The bronze medal went to Desislava Todeva and Selin Salim, who prevailed in a close 2-0 (22-20, 25-23) match against Ivana Ivanova and Tsvetelina Ilieva.

In the men`s competition, second-seeded Martin Yochev and Denislav Dimitrov claimed the top spot. They staged a remarkable comeback from a set down to win the gold medal match 2-1 (15-21, 21-10, 15-8) against Hristiyan Velikov and Stefan Vartigov. Boris Georgiev and Alexander Tsanev secured the bronze, achieving a 2-0 (21-14, 28-26) upset victory over top seeds Konstantin Stoykov and Lachezar Stoimenov in the third-place playoff.

France

The Finals of the 2025 France Beach Volley Series took place last week in Saint-Laurent-du-Var. Third-seeded Arthur Canet and Tom Altwies emerged as the men`s champions, delivering a 2-0 (21-13, 21-16) upset against the top-ranked duo of Noubet Ngatoum and Simon Lebecq in the gold medal match. Olivier Barthelemy and Timothee Platre secured the bronze with a 2-0 (21-11, 21-18) victory over second-seeded Lilian Le Meur and Jeremy Ullmann.

Elsa Descamps and Romane Sobezalz claimed the women`s national title. The top-seeded pair earned a hard-fought 2-1 (21-18, 13-21, 15-11) victory in the final against second-seeded Saofe Duval and Marilu Pally. Third-seeded Ophelie Lusson and Alex Merle finished in third place, defeating Naty Molinos and Lucile Colin 2-0 (21-19, 21-13) in the bronze medal match.

Slovakia

Kristina Harmanova and Zuzana Reginova justified their top-seed ranking at the Kosice stop of Slovakia’s Nike Summer Beach Tour, securing the women`s gold. They swept the final 2-0 (21-18, 21-17) against third-seeded Ema Matasova and Ema Palkovicova. The bronze medal match concluded with a 2-1 (21-11, 16-21, 15-12) victory for Zuzana Zamozikova and Viktoria Nemlaha over Jana Noskova and Ema Durisova.

Patrik Pokopec and Peter Michalovic won the men`s final with a 2-1 (19-21, 25-23, 15-12) comeback victory against second-seeded Matus Krajco and Marek Meciar. Top-ranked Martin Petro and Patrik Marcok earned the bronze medal, defeating the Polish-Ukrainian duo of Tomasz Cwiertnia and Kyrylo Tereshchenko 2-0 (21-18, 21-14) in the third-place match.

Spain

Top-seeded Pablo Perez and Nathan Matos secured the men`s gold medal at the Gran Canaria event of the Spanish National Beach Volleyball Circuit. They achieved a 2-0 (21-19, 21-17) victory in the final against qualifiers Finn Pickert and Llorenc Truyols. Jose Aba and Manuel Aba took home the bronze after a 2-0 (21-16, 23-21) win over the Argentinean-Venezuelan pairing of Ramiro Sancer and Hernan Tovar in the third-place playoff.

In the women`s competition, top-seeded Nazaret Florian and Adriana Serrano claimed victory over second-seeded Daniela Andreu and Elba Paez in a hard-fought 2-1 (21-13, 20-22, 15-13) final. The bronze medal match saw qualifiers Maria Sevillano and Lucy Ifoma Monteiro upset third-seeded Belen Carro and Bella Huesca in a thrilling 2-1 (21-13, 18-21, 17-15) encounter to secure third place.

Ukraine

Kyiv, the capital city, hosted the 2025 Ukraine Cup in beach volleyball. Yeva Serdiuk and Anna Shumeiko clinched the women`s trophy, achieving a 2-0 (21-16, 21-17) upset victory over top-seeded Inna Makhno and Iryna Makhno in the final. Marharyta Vapniar and Mariia Shkurat secured the bronze medal with a 2-1 (8-21, 21-17, 15-13) comeback win against third-seeded Olha Mykhailovska and Olena Kurkina.

In the men`s final, top-seeded Sergiy Popov and Eduard Reznik defeated second-seeded Vitalii Savvin and Anton Moiseiev 2-1 (23-25, 21-19, 15-5). The bronze medal match also went to three sets, with Ivan Datsiuk and Oleksii Bublyk securing third place after a 2-1 (21-19, 18-21, 15-12) victory over Dmytro Kozii and Yaroslav Tymchenko.
