National Beach Volleyball Tours Spark Excitement Across Europe

Bulgaria

The Bulgarian National Beach Volleyball Tour recently captivated audiences in Shabla. In the women`s competition, Stefani Kyoseva and Veronika Ivanova secured a surprising victory in the final, overcoming Desislava Todeva and Darina Kindova with a clean 2-0 (21-17, 21-14) sweep. The bronze medal was claimed by Ivet Gavrailova and Eva Petrova, who confidently defeated Maria Ignatova and Aleksandra Nikolaeva 2-0 (21-12, 21-9) in their third-place playoff match.

For the men`s trophy, Boris Georgiev and Atanas Georgiev emerged victorious, sealing a 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) win against Martin Yochev and Yasen Stanev in the final. Konstantin Stoykov and Lachezar Stoimenov earned the bronze after a walkover victory in the third-place game against Simeon Terziyski and Daniel Valev.

Estonia

At the Rannavolle Suvetuur stop in Poltsamaa, Estonia, the men`s title was clinched by Urmas Piik and Rasmus Meius. In a closely fought final, they orchestrated a remarkable comeback, securing a 2-1 (16-21, 21-16, 15-12) win over Tristan Taht and Joosep Poldma. The bronze medal match also went to three sets, with Ragnar Pahn and Kunnar Kangro prevailing 2-1 (15-21, 21-18, 15-13) against Siim Ennemuist and Karl Maidle.

In the women`s event, the top-ranked duo of Heleene Hollas and Liisa Remmelg lived up to their billing, securing first place with a decisive 2-0 (21-16, 21-13) victory over Lithuanian qualifiers Irina Zobnina and Liubov Zobnina. Another Lithuanian pair, Vlada Oganauskiene and Lilija Firinovic, took home the bronze after a 2-0 (22-20, 21-17) win against Grete Jurgenson and Liisa-Lotta Jurgenson.

Greece

Marathon was the host city for the Hellenic Beach Volleyball National Tour Finals. Konstantina Tsopoulou and Mirto Kalamaridou made history by winning their first women`s national championship as a team, defeating qualifiers Sabati Ifigeneia and Ioanna Parisaki 2-0 (21-9, 21-16) in the final. The bronze medals were awarded to Elisavet Triantafillidi and Dimitra Manavi, who convincingly beat Myrto Paschalaki and Eleni Alexoglou 2-0 (21-11, 21-18).

In the men`s final, wild cards Dimitrios Chatzinikolaou and Stavros Ntallas secured their second national title by overcoming Panagiotis Semitekolos and Christos Tsigaridas in a hard-fought 2-1 (21-18, 10-21, 15-13) contest. The bronze medal match saw Panagiotis Ioannidis and Georgios Terzoglou upset top-seeded Dimitrios Niopas and Thodoris Papadimitriou with a 2-0 (21-18, 21-13) victory.

Latvia

At the DEPO Open Latvian Championships in Daugavpils, Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots lived up to their top-seed status, claiming the men`s championship title. They delivered a dominant 2-0 (21-9, 21-19) performance in the final against Rudolfs Stankevics and Ralfs Namikis. The bronze medal was secured by Arnis Relins and Marcis Jirgensons, who also won in straight sets, 2-0 (21-15, 21-15), against Sandis Berzins and Ernests Puskundzis.

The women`s gold medal was taken by the top-ranked duo of Liva Ebere and Deniela Konstantinova. They achieved a commanding 2-0 (21-15, 21-14) shutout against Varvara Brailko and Vanesa Grosberga in the championship match. Krista Paegle and Kitija Adamsone Martini completed the podium with a bronze, after defeating Paula Krieva and Aurelija Kotane 2-0 (21-19, 21-12).

Romania

In Oradea, Beata Vaida and Francesca Alupei earned gold at the Romanian national tour stop. The top-seeded pair delivered an emphatic 2-0 (21-9, 21-14) victory over Ana Maria Cristina Armeanu and Ioana Andreea Miu in the women`s final. The Hungarian duo Eszter Nagy and Hanna Gubik secured the bronze, overcoming Ioana Sorina Hododi and Denisa Bianca Popa 2-0 (21-11, 21-14) in the third-place playoff.

Notably, no Romanian team reached the semi-finals of the men`s tournament. In the final, the mixed Polish-Lebanese team of Adrian Bialecki and Joe El Azzi clinched a narrow 2-0 (21-19, 21-19) win against Hungary’s Matyas Papp and Marcell Mikulass Koch. The bronze medal went to Moldova’s Maxim Voleanin and Timofei Chisleacov, who achieved a 2-1 (21-11, 21-23, 15-12) victory over Serbia’s Uros Muskinja and Marko Makaric.

Spain

The La Linea de la Concepcion stop on the Spanish National Beach Volleyball Circuit saw the Argentinean-Spanish pairing of Nicolas Capogrosso and Javier Huerta top the men’s podium. They delivered a decisive 2-0 (21-9, 21-13) sweep of the final against Pablo Perez and Nathan Matos. Antonio Saucedo and Alvaro Viera secured the bronze after a 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) win over Daniel Moreno and Roberto Sanfelix for third place.

In the women`s gold medal showdown, the two highest-seeded teams faced off. Ana Vergara and Sofia Gonzalez fought back from a set down to achieve a hard-earned 2-1 (18-21, 22-20, 15-11) victory over Nazaret Florian and Adriana Serrano. Leanne van Vegten and Jill de Groot of the Netherlands earned the bronze, claiming a 2-0 (22-20, 21-18) win against the Estonian-Lithuanian pair of Kadri Puri and Erika Kliokmanaite.
