Palau’s Koror Beach Volleyball Venue officially recognised as Centre of Excellence following MoU signing – FIVB

The Koror Beach Volleyball Venue in Palau has received official recognition from the FIVB as a Centre of Excellence (CoE). This designation follows the signing of a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involving Koror State, the Oceania Zonal Volleyball Association (OZVA), the Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC), and the Palau Volleyball Federation (PVF).

The MoU was signed by representatives from the participating bodies, including the Governor of Koror State, the FIVB President, and the presidents of PNOC, OZVA, and PVF. This agreement was reached after a series of important meetings attended by FIVB leaders during their visit to Palau for the Pacific Mini Games. The initiative also received strong backing from the President of the Republic of Palau.

As a newly designated Centre of Excellence, the Koror venue will focus on providing high-level training and supporting the advancement of young athletes, coaches, and players throughout the Oceania region. It is expected to significantly contribute to the lasting positive impact of the Palau 2025 Pacific Mini Games and serve as a symbol fostering unity, shared knowledge, and opportunities for future generations of players.

The formal recognition of this venue marks a crucial milestone in the ongoing development of beach volleyball. It is set to become a vital regional hub dedicated to training and developing the sport across Oceania.

The signing of the MoU occurs at a time when the FIVB and its partners in Palau are actively investigating the potential to host a future edition of the FIVB Age Group World Championship in Palau.
