Richmond and Fireball South West Secure European Cup Berth at UKBT Club Championships

The 2025 UKBT Club Championships unfolded over an exhilarating weekend in Sandbanks, drawing over 300 participants who braved challenging wet and windy conditions. The Championship Divisions featured a robust lineup of 28 teams competing across both men’s and women’s categories, showcasing some of the highest-caliber beach volleyball played in the UK. Two intensely competitive finals ultimately determined which clubs would represent England in the upcoming CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2025.

Fireball South West successfully defended their men`s title.

In the women’s championship final, Richmond Volleyball Club faced off against Fireball South West in a gripping best-of-three series. Richmond’s formidable duo, Keefe/Bullen, kicked things off with a tense 2-1 victory over Fireball’s Star/Jagielska, clinching the third set 17-15. Fireball retaliated strongly in the subsequent match, as Tussis/Berstautaite secured a straight-sets win against Fiļa/Kurek, thereby forcing a decisive golden set. Returning to the court, Richmond’s Keefe/Bullen demonstrated composure, narrowly defeating Tussis/Berstautaite 15-13 to claim the women’s championship for Richmond.

Richmond Volleyball Club claimed victory in the women`s competition.

The men’s championship final was an internal showdown between Fireball’s South West and North Devon squads. Gleed/Bello of Fireball South West took the initial match 2-0 against Morgan/Pollock. North Devon’s Lawson/Soczewka then pushed the contest to a golden set with a dramatic 31-29 win in the second set over Dunbavin/Morgan. In the deciding golden set, Gleed/Bello once again rose to the occasion, delivering a dominant performance to secure consecutive men’s championship titles for Fireball South West.

As a direct result of these impressive performances, both Richmond Volleyball Club and Fireball South West have earned the right to represent England in the third edition of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup.
