The men`s and women`s sitting volleyball teams from Thailand recently participated in the `Volleyball Experience` event, which took place concurrently with the FIVB Volleyball Women`s World Championship 2025 in Bangkok. Their involvement served as a vibrant showcase of the global volleyball movement uniting in the Thai capital.
Hosted at the Sports Authority of Thailand, adjacent to the Huamark Indoor Stadium, the `Volleyball Experience` featured a variety of engaging, interactive volleyball installations. A particularly noteworthy aspect was a dedicated sitting volleyball court, where coaches from Thailand ParaVolley were on hand to guide participants through the sport and encourage enthusiastic fan involvement.
“Including sitting volleyball in the `Volleyball Experience` fosters a sense of equality. This event isn`t just for non-disabled athletes and fans; para-athletes and their supporters can also participate. I am delighted that a space exists for para-athletes and fans to demonstrate their skills and passion.”
Thailand`s women`s national sitting volleyball team is recognized as one of Asia`s stronger contenders. The men`s team recently secured a coveted spot in the Sitting Volleyball World Cup scheduled for October, a qualification achieved after earning a bronze medal at the Asian Championship in Hangzhou, China. Both national squads have consistently achieved podium finishes at the ASEAN Para Games, underscoring their steady and impressive progress.
Further demonstrating their support, the sitting volleyball players were also present at the Huamark Indoor Stadium to cheer on the Thai national team during their FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2025 match against the Netherlands.
