The Netherlands Secures Host Rights for FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships 2027

The Netherlands has been officially confirmed by FIVB and Volleyball World as the host nation for the 2027 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships. This significant decision follows a highly competitive selection process, during which three strong proposals were submitted by shortlisted countries. While all bids were acknowledged for their quality and potential to foster the global expansion of the sport, the Dutch proposal, which encompasses events across four distinct cities, was ultimately recognized as the most ambitious and comprehensive.

He highlighted that the 2027 Beach Volleyball World Championships in the Netherlands represents both a resurgence and a progressive step forward, aligning perfectly with FIVB`s Strategic Vision 2032, which aims to strengthen the global volleyball movement. Azevedo conveyed confidence that this championship will establish new benchmarks for excellence, innovation, sustainability, and community involvement. He eagerly anticipates collaborating with the Dutch Volleyball Federation and local partners to deliver an unforgettable celebration, both on and off the sand. He further emphasized the Netherlands` passionate fanbase and strong history, citing the highly successful 2015 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, also hosted across four cities, as clear evidence of their ability to once again deliver a spectacular event.

Roko Sikirić, CEV President and FIVB 2nd Executive Vice-President, echoed these positive sentiments, warmly welcoming the return of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships to the heart of Europe. He pointed out the Netherlands` enduring strength in Beach Volleyball, noting their recent successful hosting of the CEV EuroBeachVolley 2024 across three cities. Peter Sprenger, President of Nevobo, underscored that hosting the 2027 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships transcends the scope of a single tournament. He views it as a crucial investment for sustainable growth and the generation of lasting social and economic benefits. Drawing upon Nevobo`s 15-year strategy of organizing international indoor and beach volleyball events, he noted firsthand how the sport can inspire communities and attract new followers. Sprenger believes that as Beach Volleyball`s popularity continues its global ascent, including within the Netherlands, this event will draw a multitude of new sport enthusiasts, inspiring future generations and reinforcing community bonds. He is convinced it will establish a thriving legacy, elevating Beach Volleyball across the nation and worldwide for many years to come.
