Türkiye`s Dramatic Comeback Secures Quarterfinal Spot
The Netherlands initially gained the upper hand, clinching a close first set 29-27, suggesting a challenging path ahead for Türkiye.
However, Türkiye shifted the momentum in the latter part of the second set, equalizing the score at 22-22 and eventually drawing level in the match. Their confidence surged, leading to a dominant third set, which they won 25-19 with improved attacking, steadfast defense, and overall composure.
Türkiye carried this momentum into the fourth set, starting with a powerful 4-0 run thanks to three consecutive aces from Efe Mandıracı. The Netherlands struggled to recover, and Türkiye steadily extended its lead. Mandıracı sealed the 3-1 victory (27-29, 25-23, 25-19, 25-19) by scoring the decisive final point.
Adis Lagumdzija was instrumental in Türkiye`s comeback, leading his team with an impressive 28 points. Despite Michiel Ahyi`s dedicated effort for the Netherlands, contributing 21 points, it wasn`t enough to secure the win.
This victory is particularly significant for Türkiye, as it not only secures a quarterfinal spot but also represents their highest-ever achievement at a Men`s World Championship, surpassing their 11th-place finish in 2022.

Poland Continues Strong Performance, Canada Exits
In the subsequent match, Poland began strongly, comfortably winning the first set. Canada, however, rallied in the second, engaging in a tight contest before narrowly winning 25-23, leveling the match and hinting at a potential five-set thriller.
Nevertheless, Poland reasserted dominance in the third set, improving their attack and service to secure a 25-20 win. Their momentum continued into a one-sided fourth set, where they quickly built a substantial lead, ultimately winning 25-14 to confirm their quarterfinal qualification.
Kamil Semeniuk was Poland`s leading scorer with 18 points, showcasing a well-rounded performance in both attacking and serving. For Canada, Ryan Sclater Sho was a standout player, contributing 23 points and keeping his team competitive during the initial three sets.
Statistically, Poland displayed superior defense and rally management with 57 digs compared to Canada`s 48. Conversely, Canada excelled in reception, achieving 86 successful receptions against Poland`s 56.
With this win, Poland advances to the quarterfinals, maintaining their medal aspirations, while Canada`s tournament run concludes.
