V Angels – Mascots for the 2025 Women’s World Championship Unveiled

With just one month remaining until the start of the 2025 FIVB Women`s Volleyball World Championship in Thailand, the organizers have officially introduced the “V Angels,” the tournament`s official mascots. Alongside the charming new mascots, the highly anticipated championship trophy and a comprehensive line of themed merchandise were also revealed.

The unveiling ceremony took place at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel in Bangkok. The “V Angels” are a unique Thai interpretation of the mythical Kinnaree, a celestial being from Thai folklore that is part-human and part-bird. Developed under the concept of “volleyball angels,” these exquisitely designed characters beautifully merge traditional heritage with contemporary creativity, symbolizing Thailand as both the Land of Smiles and the Land of Design.

The mascots comprise five distinct characters, each with a unique color representing one of the host cities:

  • B Angel (Bangkok) – Yellow, symbolizing the Calendula flower.
  • C Angel (Chiang Mai) – Pink, like the Wild Himalayan Cherry.
  • K Angel (Korat / Nakhon Ratchasima) – Green, reflecting the natural beauty of Khao Yai.
  • P Angel (Phuket) – Blue, reminiscent of the azure seas.
  • T Angel (Thailand) – Red, representing the Ruby Siam.

The championship trophy itself was unveiled by Thai actress and Miss Thailand Universe 2006, Charm Osathanond. She presented it alongside Hattaya Bamrungsuk, a prominent star of the Thai national volleyball team, who also had the honor of carrying the event’s official flag.

The ceremony also served as the official launchpad for a full range of tournament merchandise, including jerseys, caps, key chains, water bottles, scarves, and mascot dolls. Members of the Thai women’s national team took to the stage, one by one, modeling and showcasing various items while the official theme song, “To Be the Champion,” played in the background.

An exciting “World Trophy on Tour” was also announced. This initiative by the Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA) aims to give volleyball enthusiasts across the country a unique opportunity to see the prestigious championship trophy up close. The tour will make stops in all four co-host cities: Chiang Mai (July 23 to 27), Nakhon Ratchasima (July 30 to August 3), Phuket (August 6 to 10), and finally Bangkok (August 16 and 17).

Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the TVA, confirmed that all tickets for matches hosted in Thailand have already been completely sold out. He further emphasized TVA’s strong commitment to inclusivity, announcing that children, youth, and persons with disabilities will be granted free access to the event.

The 2025 FIVB Women`s Volleyball World Championship is scheduled to take place from August 22 to September 7.
