Sunday`s CEV EuroBeachVolley 2025 women`s final in Düsseldorf will crown a new champion country, as France`s Clémence Vieira and Aline Chamereau face Ukraine`s Maryna Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko for the gold medal.
Vieira and Chamereau have brought France back to the EuroBeachVolley final after a 26-year hiatus.
The gold medal showdown is set for Sunday at 14:30 local time at the Rochus Club. Before that, at 13:15, Germany`s Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann will compete against Spain`s Daniela Álvarez and Tania Moreno for the bronze medal.
Historically, nine different nations have claimed the women`s EuroBeachVolley title. Germany leads with nine championships, followed by Italy (5), Switzerland (4), the Netherlands (3), Greece (3), Latvia (3), Czechia (2), Austria (1), and Russia (1).
French Duo`s Dominant Run
Since their impressive performance at last year`s Paris Olympics, the French duo of 24-year-old Vieira and 29-year-old Chamereau have been in exceptional form. They secured their spot in the final by dominating defending champions Müller and Tillmann in Saturday`s semifinal with a decisive straight-sets victory (21-13, 21-16).
Competing in the EuroBeachVolley for the third time, the French pair has reached the final undefeated, boasting five wins. They are only the second French team to make it this far, following Anabelle Prawerman and Cécile Rigaux`s achievement in 1999, and are now aiming to become France`s first gold medalists.
We are incredibly happy to be in the final. It’s been a dream for us and we can`t wait to play for gold.

Ukrainians Make History with First Medal
Maryna Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko, the first Ukrainian team to reach a EuroBeachVolley women`s final, also achieved a significant semifinal victory. They defeated Paris Olympians and 2023 EuroBeachVolley silver medalists Álvarez and Moreno in a thrilling tie-breaker (15-21, 21-16, 15-11), maintaining their undefeated record of five wins in Düsseldorf.
Considered one of the fastest-rising teams in international beach volleyball, the 32-year-old Hladun and 21-year-old Lazarenko have already secured Ukraine`s first-ever women`s EuroBeachVolley medal in Düsseldorf. (Notably, Sergiy Popov and Eduard Reznik won men`s bronze two years prior). Formed in 2023, the duo improved significantly from their ninth-place finish in last year`s event.
This means so much for us and for Ukraine. We fought hard and we are so proud to be here.

Head-to-Head Encounter
Prior to Sunday`s final, the Ukrainian and French teams have only met once internationally. Hladun and Lazarenko emerged victorious in that encounter, winning in straight sets during a qualifier match at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Quintana Roo Elite event just four months ago.
