Volleyball Super Cup Champions Crowned in Iceland and Sweden

Akureyri, Iceland, recently hosted the National Super Cup finals for both men`s and women`s volleyball, where the local club, KA Akureyri, emerged victorious in both categories. The men`s final was a thrilling five-set encounter, with KA Akureyri securing their fifth Super Cup title by defeating Throttur Reykjavik 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 21-25, 27-25, 15-13).

Following this, the women`s team from KA Akureyri delivered a dominant performance, sweeping Volsungur Husavik 3-0 (25-22, 25-12, 25-16) to successfully defend their Super Cup trophy from the previous year.

Sweden

In Sweden, the Super Cup finals took place in Falkoping over two consecutive days. The men`s final on Friday saw Floby claim a decisive 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-22) win against Hylte Halmstad, who had won the two preceding editions. Floby`s 23-year-old setter, Filip Bratic, was recognized as the Most Valuable Player.

The women`s final on Saturday was a more extended affair, with Hylte Halmstad battling through five sets to defeat Linkopings 3-2 (25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 24-26, 15-13), marking their first-ever women`s Super Cup victory. The MVP award for the women`s match was presented to Hylte`s 37-year-old Brazilian outside hitter, Milca Lubieska da Silva.
