Champions League Draw: Pot Breakdown and Qualified Teams
While the final seven positions in the 2026-27 Champions League league phase are still to be determined, 29 teams have already secured their spot. Most of these confirmed teams already know their designated pot for the draw.
The complete list of teams for the first two pots has been finalized.
Pot one includes Premier League representatives Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal. They will be joined by the reigning two-time Champions League champions Paris Saint-Germain, along with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid.
Aston Villa and Manchester United, both returning to the Champions League after missing out last season, will be in pot two. This pot also features Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Sporting, Porto, Club Brugge, Real Betis, and PSV Eindhoven.
With the remaining spots spread across pots three and four, some clubs still face uncertainty regarding their final draw position.
Feyenoord, Lille, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Galatasaray are guaranteed to be placed in pot three.
The winner of the play-off knockout round match between Fenerbahce and Lyon will also enter the draw in pot three.
VfB Stuttgart, Como, and Lens are set to be placed in pot four. They will be joined by the winners of the qualifying ties involving Levski Sofia and AEK Athens, Slovan Bratislava and Celje, and Hapoel Be'er Sheva and Sabah.
The final four positions are contested through the ties between NEC Nijmegen and Bodo/Glimt, Dinamo Zagreb and Viking, Celtic and LASK, and Slavia Prague.
Bodo/Glimt will secure the sole remaining spot in pot three if they defeat NEC Nijmegen. In this scenario, Slavia Prague and the winners of the other two qualifying ties will all be placed in pot four.
If NEC Nijmegen emerge victorious, Dinamo Zagreb would have the next highest club coefficient. For them to reach pot three, they must lose to Bodo/Glimt and successfully advance past Viking.
Celtic and Slavia Prague share identical five-year and last season's club coefficient ratings. However, Celtic accumulated more rating points in the 2024-25 term. If Celtic overcome LASK and both Bodo/Glimt and Dinamo Zagreb are eliminated, they will claim the final pot three position.
Should Bodo/Glimt, Dinamo Zagreb, and Celtic all be eliminated, the final pot four place will be allocated to Slavia Prague.
