July 7, 2025, marks a truly historic moment: the inaugural World Volleyball Day has officially arrived! This global celebration, fueled by the dedication of the entire Global Volleyball Movement, commemorates the first public demonstration of the sport by William G. Morgan on July 7, 1895.

World Volleyball Day serves as an invitation for the global volleyball community to unite in celebration of their sport. From sandy beaches and competitive courts to local parks and playgrounds, players and fans across the world are encouraged to demonstrate how volleyball inspires, unites, and empowers communities everywhere.

The response and reception leading up to this day have been nothing short of incredible. A World Volleyball Day video released last week, featuring many prominent volleyball and beach volleyball stars, garnered over 2.2 million views, showcasing the anticipation for this event.

The community`s participation throughout the countdown has been fantastic. The energy has been remarkable since the one-week leading edge, with a flood of videos and photos arriving from all corners of the world, vividly illustrating the sport`s global reach and the unity within the volleyball community. We deeply appreciate the creativity and passion that has been on display.

FIVB Volleyball Foundation projects, including the Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL) and the Githurai Kimbo Academy, are also actively participating and marking World Volleyball Day with a variety of unique activities.

The wait is finally over. World Volleyball Day is here. Let`s seize this moment to make history and celebrate the sport of volleyball, together as one global family.
