July 7, 2025, marks a significant milestone: the first ever World Volleyball Day has officially arrived! This global celebration, fueled by every member of the Global Volleyball Movement, commemorates the sport`s initial public demonstration by William G. Morgan on July 7, 1895.

World Volleyball Day is an invitation for the worldwide volleyball community to unite in celebrating the sport. From beaches and indoor courts to local parks and playgrounds, players and fans alike are encouraged to highlight how volleyball inspires, connects, and empowers communities everywhere.

The response has been extraordinary. A World Volleyball Day video released last week, featuring prominent volleyball and beach volleyball athletes, has garnered over 2.2 million views!

Are you ready for July 7th? It`s certainly not too late to participate, and everyone is welcome! Here are simple ways you can take part:

  • Keep a volleyball in the air, however you like!
  • Share your participation on social media using the hashtag #WorldVolleyballDay.
  • Submit your videos or photos.

Specific projects supported by the FIVB Volleyball Foundation, such as the Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL) and the Githurai Kimbo Academy, have also been marking World Volleyball Day with various engaging activities.
