Young Players Explore Snow Volleyball at Krvavec

At the successful Slovenian national Snow Volleyball championships recently held at Krvavec, the VBO Premium Tootbrush CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ received special emphasis. Children volunteering to help with the competition by serving as ball keepers and scorers were granted a wonderful opportunity to try playing Snow Volleyball for the very first time. They quickly realized that moving around on the snowy surface presented a much greater challenge compared to indoor play. They also noted that the ball specifically designed for Snow Volleyball felt quite different from the one they were used to in their U13 indoor training and matches, suggesting that Snow Volleyball demands a distinct set of skills.

`Youngsters

Boys and girls from Volleyball clubs OD Vital Ljubljana, OK Črnuče, and OK Kamnik enthusiastically participated throughout the day. They engaged with the senior players, learned new things from them, and most importantly, thoroughly enjoyed discovering this exciting, and youngest, discipline of volleyball.

12-year-old Gana, a young player from Ljubljana, shared her positive experience: “I really enjoyed myself at Krvavec, especially because I spent the day in nature, on the snow, and had contact with Volleyball, which I really love playing. I had a lot of fun, made good use of my free time, and learned a lot of new things. I hope I can come again next year.”

`Kids

The Volleyball Federation of Slovenia (OZS) plans to continue hosting national championship events at RTC Krvavec in the future. They also aim to reinstate the ‘Kids Day’ event, which was previously held on the snow, to give children the chance to get acquainted with Snow Volleyball the day before the main competition officially starts.
