Sorrentino: "Perin's Strength Proven by Juventus Tenure, Joins Palermo for Playing Time and Project"
Stefano Sorrentino, a former goalkeeper for clubs including Palermo, shares his thoughts on Mattia Perin's transfer to the Rosanero. Perin, formerly of Juventus, has now joined Palermo.
Sorrentino: 'Perin is One of Serie A's Strongest Goalkeepers, Comes to Palermo for the Project'
"Regarding Perin? We're talking about one of the strongest goalkeepers in Serie A. If you stay at Juventus for so many years, it means you're strong. I've always said he could easily be the starting goalkeeper in Serie A for any of the twenty teams. He's an absolutely top-level goalkeeper. When you're part of one of Italy's most important clubs, and the most famous Italian team in the world, it's natural that you have something extra. I'm happy he's come to Palermo. I know Mattia and wish him the best of luck. Is he going to Palermo to play more or for the project? I think both. Over the years at Juventus, several goalkeepers have come and gone, and they were never given the chance to be the starter. Then, if Palermo calls you in Serie B, with the team they are building, with the club they have, and with the city of Palermo, I think it was quite simple for him to say yes."
Sorrentino: 'I Advise Perin to Embrace the City'
"What advice do I have for Perin? As soon as he arrives, to enjoy Palermo and everything that comes with it. The people, the city, the club, in short, everything surrounding Palermo, including the fans, is something unique. In a way, I envy him, in a pleasant way, of course. I experienced those emotions too and I know what they mean."
