Amy Hunt has followed up her remarkable performance at the European Championships by claiming the silver medal in the 200-meter race at the Lausanne Diamond League. This achievement comes just a week after Hunt made history by becoming the first athlete to win four gold medals at a single European Championship event held in Birmingham.

In Switzerland, Hunt demonstrated her continued strength by finishing second with a time of 22.32 seconds. She narrowly defeated Nigeria's Favour Ofili in a photo finish, securing the runner-up position. The race was won by American sprinter Kayla White, while two-time world champion Shericka Jackson unfortunately had to withdraw due to a leg injury.

In other track events, Zharnel Hughes finished fifth in the men's 200 meters, which was won by Botswana's Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo. Elise Thorner placed eighth in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase.

The home crowd celebrated a popular victory as Swiss favorite Audrey Werro triumphed in the 800 meters. Werro, who recently beat Britain's Keely Hodgkinson to the European 800m gold, continued her winning streak. She narrowly beat Dutch athlete Femke Bol, setting a new national record of 1:55.41, signaling her rapid ascent in the sport.

"The turnaround after the European Championships was very short, so I had to recover quickly, and I felt more tired than usual today," Werro commented. "Despite that, I managed to win, so I'm very happy."

In the women's 100-meter hurdles, US Olympic champion Masai Russell maintained her dominance, leading from the start to win in 12.27 seconds. This victory marks her ninth consecutive win this season.

"It was another win, so it keeps the streak alive, and I'm very pleased," Russell stated. "I hadn't raced in a month, so I was really happy to see that my performance was right where I left it."
