AC Milan has secured a significant offensive reinforcement with the signing of 2004-born winger Diego Moreira from Strasbourg.
Diego Moreira is officially a new AC Milan player. The Belgian talent has signed a five-year contract with the Rossoneri, choosing number 22 as his jersey number.
AC Milan announces that it has acquired the sporting performance of footballer Diego Moreira from Strasbourg on a permanent basis. The Belgian winger has signed a contract with the Rossoneri club until June 30, 2031, and will wear the number 22 jersey.
Born in Liège on August 6, 2004, Diego Moreira developed in the youth sectors of Standard Liège and Benfica, where he completed his growth path before entering professional football. With the Lisbon club, he stood out in the youth teams, winning the UEFA Youth League with the Under-19s in the 2021/22 season and, a few months later, the Under-20 Intercontinental Cup. In the following season, he also made his debut in the UEFA Champions League, playing in the preliminary rounds of the 2022/23 edition.
In the summer of 2023, he moved to Chelsea, a club with which he debuted in the first team on August 30 of the same year, in a Carabao Cup match against Wimbledon.
In the 2023/24 season, he also wore the Olympique Lyon jersey, while in the summer of 2024, he arrived permanently at Strasbourg. In Alsace, he gradually established himself as one of the most interesting young players in the French championship, showcasing speed, technical quality, and tactical versatility.
On the international stage, Diego Moreira has represented Portugal at youth levels up to the Under-21s, also participating in the 2023 Under-21 European Championship. Since 2025, he has been wearing the jersey of the Belgian senior national team, with whom he debuted in the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and participated in the final phase of the competition.
