Free ChatGPT Users Gain Access to Upgraded Task Scheduling

August 26, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

Previously exclusive to paid subscribers, OpenAI has now made its enhanced task scheduling tool for ChatGPT accessible to all users, including those with free accounts. This feature, which allows users to schedule prompts, was initially rolled out in June. Alongside the scheduling menu, improvements were made to ChatGPT's ability to manage future tasks, making it simpler to monitor and modify requests.

Furthermore, users can now share their scheduled tasks with others, facilitating the dissemination of useful prompts. For paid users (Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise), OpenAI has introduced the capability to set up prompts that automatically activate in response to events within Gmail, Slack, and GitHub. This update for paid subscribers begins rolling out today.

OpenAI highlights several practical applications for scheduled tasks. These include setting up travel alerts for upcoming journeys or requesting notifications about new movies and TV shows released on streaming platforms. Users could also opt to receive daily summaries of news from their preferred sources.
